ServiceLine can easily track warranty claims filed against a job. After a claim has been filed with a manufacturer and you have received a confirmation number, you can begin to track that claim against a job.
To create a Warranty Claim:
- Locate the job with the claim associated with it.
- Click the "Warranty Claims" tab.
- Click the "Add Warranty Claim" button.
- Enter the details about the warranty claim. You can only enter a warranty claim against an existing vendor, so you will need to add the vendor in ServiceLine if they do not already exist.
Once you have received payment from the vendor, you will need to close the warranty claim out.
To close out a Warranty Claim:
- Locate the job with the claim associated with it.
- Click the "Warranty Claims" tab.
- Click the date of the warranty claim.
- Enter the amount of money you received, any additional notes, and set the "Status" drop-down to "Closed".
- Click the "Save Warranty Claim" button to save your changes.
