Recommendations are ServiceLine's way of allowing your technicians to build out a list of options they recommend the customer choose while at the jobsite. A technician can add as many options as they like, but we recommend they have at least three. Each option can have as many tasks from your pricebook as necessary.
A recommendation is built by a technician in the Mobile App, but can be viewed by the office through the "Recommendations" menu item.
Please spend a moment to familiarize yourself with how recommendations are handled in the mobile apps first:
Recommendation Listing
To view a list of recommendations:
- Click on the ServiceLine logo in the upper-left corner of the page to navigate to the home page.
- Click on "Recommendations" in the menu at the top of the page.
Each recommendation has a unique identifier, called the recommendation number (starts with #R), and is the first column displayed in the recommendation listing. You can click this number or the customer name view details about that particular recommendation.
Filtering and Searching
Searching and filtering your recommendations is very simple.
Searching
If you need to perform a quick search, use the "Search Recommendations" form at the top of the recommendation listing. This will search all of your recommendations across the following fields:
- Purchase Order Number (exact)
- Job Number (exact)
- Customer Name (fuzzy, case-insensitive)
- Company (fuzzy, case-insensitive)
Filtering
You can also filter your recommendations using the following Fields:
- Start and End Date (exact)
- Service Type (exact)
- Technician (exact)
- Task Number (exact)
Exporting
You can export a list of recommendations using the "Export to Excel" button in the upper right hand corner of the recommendation list.
Recommendation Details
Click on any recommendation to view to view its details. By default, the recommendation interface will show you two tabs:
- Options - The "Options" tab shows a list of options, and tasks associated with those options, that were presented by the technician to the customer.
- Details - The "Details" tab allows you to make changes to the customer details related to that recommendation.
Sending a Recommendation
While the technician can email the recommendation from the Mobile App, you can also send it from the Control Center. To send a recommendation:
- Click the "Recommendations" menu item.
- Click the recommendation you would like to close.
- On the "Options" tab, click the "Send Recommendation" button.
If a PDF of the recommendation already exists, it will be sent, otherwise a PDF will be generated first, and then sent.
Closing a Recommendation
To close a recommendation:
- Click the "Recommendations" menu item.
- Click on the recommendation you would like to close.
- On the "Options" tab, click the "Close Recommendation" button.
Closing a recommendation does not have any effect on it other than making it non-editable by the technician in the field. You can always re-open the recommendation if necessary as well.
